We are currently seeking a Strategic Communications Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in media relations and stakeholder engagement. A strong background in writing, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential to success in this position.
This position is open to all applicants in the contiguous United States position (Washington, D.C. Metropolitan-area based candidates are preferred). Candidates are typically expected to work an Eastern time zone schedule (e.g., 9:00 am 5:00 pm ET) regardless of where they reside.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans to promote new and existing products

``` - Conduct media relations activities, including satellite and/or radio media tours and PSA distribution

``` - Lead partner outreach to potential stakeholders, including creating materials and conducting phone and email outreach

``` - Coordinatepurchasingof conference/event materials

``` - Manage and evaluate the effectiveness of communication tactics by developing and tracking key performance indicators

``` - Support nationwide external, Veteran-focused communications campaigns.

``` - Required Experience and Qualifications
```{=html}
``` - Bachelor's degreerequired, preferably in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.

``` - 3-5 years of professional experience.
```{=html}
``` - Experience in strategic communications, marketing/public relations activities, including tactics as part of an outreach or education campaign.

``` - Experience developing and producing communications tools, such as communication plans, media releases, scripts, and talking points.

``` - Excellent writing, conceptual, and copy-editing skills.
```{=html}
``` - Creative and analytical thinking skills.
```{=html}
``` - Strong oral communication and presentation skills.

``` - Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

``` - Strong attention to detail for error-free, flawless products.
```{=html}
``` - Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work inteamsetting or independently.

``` - Flexible and adaptable, able to work under tight timelines.

``` - MS Officeproficiency(Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Previousexperience working for a federal government contractor, consulting organization, public relations or marketing agency, and/or national association.

``` - Previousexperience supporting strategic communications efforts at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and/or one of its three administrations.
