Making Cents International Chief of Party, USAID DEIA Activity in Washington, District Of Columbia

Making Cents International is recruiting for a Chief of Party (COP) to lead the Anticipated USAID DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) Activity. The Activity will focus on providing capacity strengthening to local, new, and non-traditional USAID partners to support diversified partnerships and conducting outreach, surveys, and other monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) tasks related to DEIA. 

This position is contingent upon winning a contract award. 

Responsibilities 

The Chief of Party will provide overall leadership, management, and technical direction of the Activity. In this role, they will: 

  • Promote DEIA in all aspects of project programming.  

  • Advance the design and implementation of DEIA MEL-related interventions and activities, drawing on best practices and evidence-based approaches.  

  • Manage all activities, subcontractors, and staff, ensuring cohesion, efficiency, and quality control across tasks. 

  • Ensure that all full-time and short-term personnel provide timely, relevant, high-quality services. 

  • Serve as the primary liaison with USAID, local government entities, project partners, and other relevant stakeholders. 

  • Ensure all contractual requirements are met. 

  • Identify, support, and convene local and regional organizations. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in international development or a related field 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience leading USAID-funded projects  

  • Experience implementing DEIA initiatives and promoting DEIA within organizations. 

  • Experience leading USAID evaluation and research teams

  • Familiarity with USAID rules, policies, procedures, regulations, and evaluation report writing styles

  • Technical expertise and experience in local capacity strengthening and monitoring, evaluation, and learning

  • Ability to work with various counterparts, implementing partners, and host country government stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork 

  • Superior written and oral communication skills 

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
