Job Overview
The Building Maintenance Worker performs general building trades work in maintaining building structures, systems and equipment and related components as part of the services provided by the facilities management department to maintain University buildings. Services include routine and semi-skilled preventative maintenance and minor repair of building structures, systems (HVAC, plumbing and electrical). Responsibilities include but are not limited to me;
Perform semi-skill maintenance and repairs in accordance with industry/trade practices.
Provide daily maintenance support to building users through responses to calls for service, scheduled preventative maintenance inspections, and similar service
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled or special work
Use all standard tools, equipment, materials and supplies of the trade
Observe all safety rules, regulations and precautions in performing their duties
Work Interactions
Depending on assigned area of work, this Building Maintenance Worker reports directly to a Zone Manager or a Central Shop Supervisor, along with employees of other trades, and trades helpers.
Requirements and Qualifications
High School diploma or certified equivalency
2 years of experience performing general building maintenance work utilizing electrical, plumbing, and carpentry/lock
Basic HVAC maintenance skills.
Completion of a training program in general building maintenance that includes basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lock and basic HVAC maintenance
Possession of a valid driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia or District of Columbia

Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $20.50 USD Hourly. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
