Job Title: Furniture Handler (GAO)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Furniture Handler in Washington, DC . This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Receiving Unit Supervisor with organizing daily tasks to include, receiving deliveries and distribute materials and office supplies

  • Assist with moving furniture and other handling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Assist with IT deliveries and with bar coding the new IT property

  • Support set up of new GAO employee workstations and internal moves

  • Perform daily set up of conference rooms.

  • Perform Quality Control checks on service requests pertaining to the Receiving Unit to make sure of accuracy.

  • Assist GAO Mail Room with receiving FedEx and UPS Deliveries via security scanning equipment in the Mail Room.

  • Log the packages into the GAO RUIS system, print signature sheets and assign RU staff member to deliver packages.

  • File paperwork according to GAO policy.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least one year experience safely utilizing handheld pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and furniture moving equipment.

  • Operators of the pallet jacks shall require certification.
