Responsibilities:

•Execution support to the thin controllership resource in markets to timely deliver statutory audit deadlines, help in equity reconciliation, and oversees the compliance with the statutory deadlines and escalates any risks of non-compliance.

•Back up for the country controller in case of vacation or resignation or sickness.

•Supporting local Controller during month-end close and accountability to deliver monthly and quarterly deadlines across the sub-region.

•Reviews BS and P&L analytics to be submitted as well as balance sheet reconciliations to understand anomalies.

•Supports country controller with non-routine activities (business acquisitions, performance improvement initiatives).

•Pre-align with Business Finance and act as a business partner of the sub-regional Finance Director.

•Work with transformation team on performance improvements initiatives in the subregion.

•Ensures SOX compliance in the sub-region, timely filings, VAT payment, VAT reclaim filing date.

•Approve applicable balance sheet and income statements analytics for GAAP compliance.

•Ensure good internal controls environment in the sub-region.

•Ensures retention of the country controllership team and resolves people problems.

Requirements:

•A recognised Accountancy Qualification, preferably ACA or ACCA.

•Formal training in the use of Excel, Word and presentation software packages.

•Italian or Spanish or French language skills is desirable.

•Experience of similar role in a medium or large sized business.

•Minimum of five years’ experience of working as an auditor in a Big 4 Audit firm.

•Preparation of statutory and management accounts.

•Reviewing financial statements to ensure presentation, disclosures and format are in line with the relevant accounting standards.

•IT Skills to lead, process and report developments to achieve key tasks, and to give the business a sound reporting base.
