Job Description

Lionbridge Games (LG) provides world-class global publishing services to platform holders, AAA game publishers and game developers, and is a leader in AI applications to games content localization services. Lionbridge Games is looking for a motivated Language AI Specialist (Linguist) to work as a part of an exciting new Language AI (Games) team that will drive the exploration and operationalization of AI solutions through our games content services.

The Language AI (Games) team will facilitate the rapid implementation of LLM- and AI-based production solutions as fully deployed workflows from technology, organization, process, and skills perspectives. The team will focus on practical implementation of multilingual LLM- and AI-based production solutions, and the exploitation of tools and technology within real-world scenarios. The team will work in a cross-disciplinary and hands-on manner solving challenges collectively, with individual team members providing specialist expertise in core areas.

The Language AI Specialist (Linguist) brings expert multilingual skills to the team, providing insights into the challenges of different spoken and written languages, quality evaluation, and language-specific custom requirements, in relation to AI and games content.

Responsibilities

The Language AI Specialist (Linguist ) will participate in all aspects of the Language AI (Games) team responsibilities, adopting many hats in pursuit of the team’s objectives. Notably she will participate in:

Team Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Experimental Lab relating to AI production solutions

  2. Exploratory prompt and AI design with a particular focus on ML outcomes

  3. Identification, creation, execution and analysis of test cases

  4. Repository of Expertise relating to AI production solutions

  5. Attend prompt engineering training

  6. Building prompt libraries

  7. Documenting best practices

  8. Training & Mentoring Cadre to Production teams

  9. Transfer knowledge throughout the Production organization

  10. Return to Operations teams ready to lead AI initiatives

  11. Manage AI Pilots and Production for Customers

  12. Design and execute response to customer requests for AI pilots

  13. Design and prepare response to customer requests that have an AI component – support and assist Production teams in their execution.

  14. Collaborate and liaise with Product and R&D teams around a shared roadmap for AI production technology and services.

  15. Work directly with freelance and internal linguists and QE teams to perform punctual tests: QE tests, Linguistic input, etc.

Additionally, the Language AI Specialist (Linguist) brings expert language skills to the team, especially in areas such as:

  • Evaluating outcomes in multilingual AI processes

  • Predicting, identifying and assessing differential AI outcomes in a multilingual process

  • Prompt and AI design to address and mitigate differential outcomes

  • Use of assets in AI processes: style guides, LQA setup, Translation Memories, Glossaries, etc.

  • Transmitting task requirements to freelancers and specialists in different language pairs for language tasks and Quality Evaluation

  • Excellent understanding of the creative and technical challenges in game content localization, both spoken and written

  • Excellent understanding of translation production processes and challenges

  • Excellent in-depth knowledge of translation in at least one language pair

  • Familiarity with translation challenges including non-roman alphabets and non-European language pairs

  • Excellent understanding of the role and requirements of localization assets: style guides, punctuation and normalization rules, LQA setup, TMs, glossaries, etc.

  • Basic understanding of voice and voice formats: subtitling and subtitling rules, audio and video files

  • Ability to design, define and analyze Quality Evaluation tasks

Preferred Experience

  • Degree or higher (master’s or higher appreciated) in a language or linguistic field.

  • High degree of fluency in English, both spoken and written

  • High degree of fluency in at least one other language

  • 5 + years’ experience in games industry

  • 5 + years’ experience as a games translator, reviewer, Quality Evaluator, or Global Language Lead

  • 3 + year working with multilingual content including non-roman alphabets and non-European languages

  • 1+ year using LLM prompts to support daily activities

  • Familiarity or curiosity about Agile Scrum methodologies appreciated
