Dorman Products, Inc. Operations Manager - Monday-Wednesday 5pm-5am in Warsaw, Kentucky

Responsible for the direction and management of efficient day-to-day operations of a shift at a high volume, multishift distribution center. Executes an operations strategy that promotes continuous improvement in productivity, on-time delivery, quality, safety, and contributor engagement. Drives the Culture of Contribution and outstanding customer experience through the achievement of site and organization KPIs. Works collaboratively with Dorman cross-functional teams to execute distribution strategies, allow seamless integration of systems with processes, provide effective labor planning and training, and ensure accurate measurement of results. Manages and develops team responsible for receiving, warehousing, and shipping of product.
- Executes operations shift strategy with a focus on continuous improvement, and supporting our Culture of Contribution
- Leads DC initiatives that improve current process efficiency, material flow, labor productivity, quality, safety and space utilization.
- Partners with other functional areas of the business in order to execute and deliver best in class service.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Models, ensures and maintains direct, productive, and positive relationships between and among leadership and contributors
- Builds talent through coaching, empowering, and mentoring direct reports
- Responsible for the implementation of all company policies/procedures, ensuring company values are practiced throughout the site at all levels.
- Ensures the operation is compliant with all Federal and state laws/ requirements regarding hazardous materials, health and safety, and other risk areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in multiple industries/companies.
- Strong background in supply chain systems (i.e. WMS, Inventory Planning, ERP, etc.)
- Experienced in project management and demonstrated success in process improvement.
- A proven track record of building, developing, and aligning internal resources with external customer expectations.
- Outstanding analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and employee engagement skills
- High standard of integrity and reliability; able to build trust and loyalty with others.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), capability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
- Experience within a Lean Six-Sigma manufacturing or sourcing/distribution environment is preferred.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, motivate and develop leaders in a high energy environment.
- Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 50 pounds.
- Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 7+ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
