What You Can Expect

Responsible for all aspects of industrial control architectures, automated systems & applications, programmable logic controls, equipment controls, and complex electrical systems that support manufacturing, controlled environments, and building infrastructure. Responsible for an industrial controls standard operating procedure that governs design specifications, standardization, utilization, change control, data collection, and data retention.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and programming equipment PLC (programmable logic controller) devices and building automation systems.

  • Update, modify, and continuously improve existing control systems, including robotic programs, ladder logic programs, relay logic, building automation, electrical distribution, motor controls, and operator interface modules.

  • Design, develop, document, and program new equipment controls, including manufacturing equipment automation, robotic controls, PLCs, electrical distribution, building automation, and vision systems.

  • Design, implement, and maintain the performance and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and automation to improve process efficiencies and reduce business continuity risk.

  • Develop and maintain requirements related to manufacturing equipment and building automation system validation/qualification.

  • Lead validation activities that have a direct impact on all manufacturing equipment controls and building automation systems, along with coordinating work with technicians assigned to validation-related testing.

  • Review change management requests for proper change control of validated manufacturing and building automation systems. Complete necessary updates to related procedures as required.

  • Participate in department activities to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing manufacturing equipment and building automation systems, as well as periodic reviews and revisions of related procedures.

  • Review new manufacturing equipment and building automation system proposals for adherence to standardized control architectures and applications.

  • Lead and support the corrective action preventative action process for items related to validated manufacturing equipment controls and building automation systems.

  • Assist in maintaining a systematic and controlled approach for the storage and retrieval of all manufacturing equipment control systems and building automation.

  • Assist in maintaining structured processes governing password control methods and access authorization levels pertaining to control systems, automation, and applications.

  • Assist in managing revisions and licensing agreements for control systems, automation, and applications.

  • Assist in maintaining a structured process for routine data collection, backup, and retention.

  • Establishes design specifications for standardization of control architectures and automation applications.

  • Facilitate, participate, and assist with all plant operations support functions, including safety, regulatory compliance, asset management, continuous improvement, remediation, and audit readiness throughout all manufacturing facilities.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Must be technically competent in industrial control architectures, automated systems & applications, programmable logic controls, equipment controls, and complex electrical systems.

  • Experience in project management with the proven ability to bring projects to successful completion within established timelines.

  • Computer skills with various software applications, including MS Office, Allen Bradley, CAD,

  • Knowledge in FDA-regulated industries.

  • Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing principles.

  • Knowledge and experience with equipment installation and qualification processes.

  • Ability to coordinate work with contractors and technicians, with timely and thorough follow-up.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adjust priorities based on business needs.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Excellent people skills with the ability to positively interact and communicate with personnel from various backgrounds, position titles, and manufacturing experience.

  • Must be willing to travel to all Warsaw facilities on a regular basis.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required

  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing controls engineering and automation positions, preferably in an FDA-regulated industry.

  • Formal training/certifications and experience using AutoCAD are a plus
