Expected salary range of $106,200 to $118,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Fleet specialist in curriculum development activities involving the implementation of Constellation's Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) Model and procedural requirements for the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation that provides guidance to fleetwide instructors for the revision of the operator, technical, maintenance and general nuclear training programs. Provides expertise in analyzing training problems, developing and recommending solutions relative to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), and the training department requirements to include the following areas: Accreditation, Training System Development, Training Program Effectiveness, and Training Staff Development. Provides governance and oversight of the self-assessment program for the training department.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides expertise to support/mentor instructors in developing training programs in compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), corporate and department requirements.

  • Conducts instructor evaluations, assessments, and recommends developmental activities to enhance fleetwide instructor performance.

  • Performs the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the Constellation Initial Instructor Certification Program.

  • Provides support and coordinates logistics, student communications, course facilitator selection, and locations for fleetwide initial instructor training courses.

  • Develops and conducts initial and continuing instructional skills and performance improvement training for instructional staff and Subject Matter Experts.

  • Support station and fleet activities in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects.

  • Acts or assists as an agent for Constellation governance documents and procedures for the Instructor Training Program and selected nuclear training systematic approach to training (SAT) procedures.

  • Maintains knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills, and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective high-quality training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year degree in education/training, organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field and a minimum of 5 years of training/education experience OR

  • Associate's degree in education/training, organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field and a minimum of 7 years of training/education experience OR

  • In lieu of degree, minimum of 9 years of education/training experience, organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field

  • Organizational skills including the ability to coordinate programs across a large organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience coordinating or leading a training program

  • Master's degree in education/training, organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field

  • Experience designing computer-based training modules and knowledge of e-learning software applications such as Articulate

  • Expert level class facilitation skills

  • Experience working in teams from multiple organizations in accomplishing diverse tasks and assignments

  • Superior written and oral communication skills

  • Effective in working with regulatory agencies concerning training related issues

  • Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT)

  • Knowledge of educational technology and software applications used in the design and delivery of instruction, such as Microsoft Power Point, Articulate, Blackboard etc.

  • Ability to lead project teams

  • Ability to lead by influence

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry regulations (Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) governing training requirements for nuclear power plants

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry human performance error reduction tools and human performance programs

  • Experience working at an operating nuclear power plant
