Job Description

Perform laboratory tests or other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines and work aids. Prepare and paint panels, and perform laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards. Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition, set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments. Formulate paints, document data, and analyze results. Some testing may be very routine, including running physical tests on paints and wet chemistry tests like viscosity, pH, and titrations. Pour and mix paints while collaborating in a larger team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests using conventional and computerized machines.

  • Prepare and paint panels.

  • Conduct laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards.

  • Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition.

  • Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.

  • Formulate paints.

  • Document data and analyze results.

  • Perform routine testing, including physical tests on paints.

  • Conduct wet chemistry tests such as viscosity, pH, and titrations.

  • Pour and mix paints.

  • Collaborate with a larger team.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in laboratory practices and techniques.

  • Knowledge of chemistry, particularly wet chemistry and titration.

  • Ability to perform basic lab quality checks and quality control.

  • Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

  • Experience with chemical and coating processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Experience in coatings is highly preferred but not mandatory.

  • Organic Chemistry coursework is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism.

  • Basic lab knowledge and ability to perform basic lab tests.

Work Environment

Work in a laboratory setting, with occasional lifting of paint buckets up to 50 lbs. Standard work hours are 7 am - 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts. Opportunity for growth and collaboration with experienced chemists.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
