Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

Position Description:
Central Engineering Interns will participate in projects and work centered around several CI projects for safety including building safety, spill prevention, layout changes, office upgrades, and furniture replacements. Interns will also assist in providing engineering solutions to complex problems, benchmarking and lessons learned implementation, cost saving projects, and lean manufacturing execution.
During our paid internship program, interns will have the opportunity to work on major projects and showcase their skills and talents. This program will provide each student with valuable insight, hands-on experience, and networking opportunities that will prepare each intern for their future. Interns will work alongside leaders and mentors on assignments related to your field of study to take your classroom learning to the next level. We are seeking dynamic and energetic interns who are ready to seize the opportunity and help us charge into a more sustainable, all-electric future transportation powered by Ultium Cells batteries.
Ultium Cells, LLC. 2025 Summer Internship Program begins on May 19 th , 2025 with a 12-week minimum duration.
Qualifications:
We are seeking students who are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
High school diploma or GED required
Must be available to attend orientation on May 19 th , 2025 (non-negotiable) and participate for the full 12-week minimum duration
