Job Description

This role will be supporting the CX organization at our client's (Customer Experience). This team is growing substantially and they are adding to their team! This service designer should have an interest in working on a-lot of different types of projects as they will not solely be hired for one thing. Our client is in the process of building out a design studio where their designers will work across several different products. Some examples would be, HMI, Mobile, Web, Connected vehicle & in-car experience products (think in the touchscreen of the vehicle), voice integration, etc. Potential candidates should come from a digital or industrial design experience. This is an exciting area within our client's that has a-lot of opportunity for designers who are looking for a challenge and environment that offers a variety of projects!

Our growing design team is seeking a passionate and talented Information designer with experience in design thinking and utilizing journey-based methods and/or a Service Designer with exceptional visual/graphic composition and storytelling capabilities. This role will be a critical part of a specialized design team that explores and unpacks our most holistic experiences that cut across channels and platforms. This specialized team works across organizations and functions to ensure a holistic experience is realized and the coordination to deliver can be achieved. This person can develop a compelling visual presentation that effectively tells a system level story that drives cross functional shared understanding and alignment. This person in this role will be open to adopting existing custom visual story telling systems and taking ownership of them to evolve those further. In addition to being a key contributor to our internal design methods and practices, we’re also seeking a subject matter expert to partner with content designers and visual designers. We’re seeking someone that understands the efficiency and visual interest of information presented is as important as ever with where the competition for end-user engagement is today.

Responsibilities

• Adopt and grow lean visual journey-based story telling systems that are utilized across multiple design teams that work with organizations across the company.

• Ability to develop, with cross functional partners and stakeholders, service blueprints, journey maps, and other infographics and visual formats related to the customer experience for internal cross functional use.

• Partner with production responsible design teams to assess and explore how we can present data and educational/awareness content efficiently and with more meaning and value for our end-user customers.

• Partner cross functionally upstream in exploration and ideation on content dependent concepts with customer facing data presentation.

• Partner with teams working on dashboards and internal tools to support operational performance and efficiency.

About You

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience.

• System level thinker.

• A portfolio that demonstrates visual hierarchy, depth of thought, design process, and the ability to organize and communicate complexity.

• The desire and ability to organize chaos and bring clarity to complexity.

• Experience with human-centered, journey-cased, and design thinking methodologies and approaches and running group workshops.

• Actively seeks feedback and is comfortable giving and receiving criticism.

• An appreciation for different disciplines, backgrounds, and types of thinkers. We need a well-rounded team to make anything great.

• Proficient in common design tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: Looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow in their career. This person needs to be collaborative and interested in working in a team environment. Any experience with SAFE Agile is also a plus, though not required.
