Responsibilities

Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital is looking for a Family Medicine Physician for our residency program.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital to provide medical services to patients and teach residents.

The Family Medicine residency program of Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital is a community teaching hospital in Warren and is affiliated with Michigan State University. Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital is a long established program with Osteopathic Recognition and consists of 18 residents over a three year cycle.

Position Highlights:

  • Full-time, employed position

  • Opportunity to see own patients and be involved in a Family Medicine residency education

Responsibilities:

  • Precept Family Medicine residents in an outpatient practice setting

  • Opportunity to see your own panel of patients 2 - ½ days per week

  • Inpatient consult service for Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy services ½ day per week

  • Call is shared between four core faculty

  • Serve as an advisor to medical students and residents

  • Provide lectures on various topics throughout the year

  • Serve on committees and assist with curriculum development

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.

Additional Preferences

  • Completion of Family Medicine residency program required

  • BC Family Medicine preferred

  • Interest in teaching
