Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Tower, Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

Perform key Software & Services (S&S) FP&A and operational related financial analyst activities partner across business & Finance to manage, consolidate, track & report S&S financial results and budget performance. Serve as a Finance partner to Operating Staff with timely and relevant reporting and analysis that drives the most informed business decisions. Provide analysis, insights and recommendations that drive profitability, mitigate risks and offer solutions to business problems.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate and execute a wide-range of month-end close, monthly forecast, and annual budget/long-term plan related activities

• Proactively support Finance & operating leadership with analysis and insights that help drive profitability and solutions to business opportunities and challenges

• Apply financial analysis tools and work experiences to influence current and future profitability (e.g., financial models, business cases, run rate, advanced data analytics)

• Prepare reporting packages with insight for monthly operating review and /or Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), anticipating logical questions based on content

• Innovate to improve financial processes and tools

• Leverage tools and methods (i.e., Power BI) to efficiently deliver business insights and analysis

• Support Future of Finance system/process transformation, including S&S Finance design requirements, testing, and implementation activities

• Apply a high level of independent judgement, accuracy, creativity, and initiative

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or related field

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience

• Highly motivated and results driven

• Strong analytic and technical skills

• High business acumen, strategic thinking, and succinct storytelling

• Evidence of strong character and integrity

• Collaborates effectively across Finance and cross-functionally

• Ability to organize and plan multiple assignments and deadlines in an ambiguous and continually changing environment

• Reacts to and addresses urgent requests in a timely, high-quality manner

• Proactively seeks developmental opportunities to grow technical and professional skills (e.g. develops new skills, attend training opportunities, network, feedback)

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• High proficiency with Excel and Hyperion planning systems preferred
