About the Job

The Vaccine R&D Data Catalyst team collaborates with various teams to digitally transform Vaccine R&D. The Business Product Owner plays a crucial role by driving strategy, prioritizing data needs, collaborating on the design of digital tools for seamless F.A.I.R data collection, and extending their scope as per global strategies. This pivotal position oversees all aspects of digital products for R&D labs (with a focus on mRNA CoE and GI), requiring agile management, leadership skills, and an ability to translate scientific needs into digital user stories. You will contribute as a key enabler to exciting programs and products such as Benchling, BioSource, SanBAR, and Thunder. You’ll also act as the Vaccine R&D Data Lead for your domain, maintaining data models and collaborating with other stakeholders. You will facilitate transformation, identify automation opportunities, and contribute to data governance efforts. The R&D Business Product Owner is key in enabling evolution towards new technologies, new ways of working, and allowing for better strategic alignment within R&D and with other Sanofi entities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Digital Product Vision: Define and communicate the vision and value-proposition for Vaccine R&D, aligned with lab functions’ priorities and Sanofi’s digital R&D strategy.

  • Roadmap & Prioritization: Develop and execute a roadmap for different lab functions. Prioritize high-level lab workflows based on function needs, readiness, and technological feasibility.

  • Delivery: Responsible for business design to deliver fit-for-purpose digital solutions. Act as a Business Analyst, coordinating with external analysts when needed.

  • Resourcing: Ensure resource availability for projects and define lab prerequisites in coordination with Digital Transformation Leaders and Super Users.

  • Governance: Report progress (KPIs) and represent Vaccine RD in program governance bodies.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Digital R&D product lead and other stakeholders using Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Documentation & Validation: Secure proper documentation of the digital product, including system validation where needed.

About You

Experience :

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, knowledge of laboratory workflows (virology, bacteriology, immunology, molecular biology, clinical testing) with a strong knowledge of Laboratory digital project management (ELN/LIMS) and digital transformation a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • demonstrated leadership, strong attention to detail, excels in written and oral communication, effective influencing and problem-solving abilities, willingness to take responsibility and work well in a team.

Technical Skills:

  • Agile Methodology, Knowledge of Scientific Data models and Data Governance best practices, Strong knowledge of Benchling, iLab, GDB, and/or StarLIMS, awareness of cross-industry data standards and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2-3 years; MS preferred.

Languages :

  • English, French is a plus
