Summary About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States. This position is a temporary position not to exceed (NTE) 1-year, however, at the discretion of management, the position may be converted to a term position up to a maximum not to exceed (NTE) 4-years. Responsibilities Serve as a Senior EEO Specialist on an EEO staff. Independently resolve difficult issues/problems requiring comprehensive knowledge of the total EEO Program. Perform all stages of complaint processing to include counseling, conflict of interest complaints and class complaints. Coordinate the scheduling of construction operations. Provide surveillance of construction projects in natural disaster areas. Prepare PowerPoint presentation for the required briefings and present some of the data. Prepare FEMA damage survey reports; completes attachments, including photos, estimates, sketches, measurements, invoices and similar documents. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing technical advice on complex and conflict of interest complaints 2) resolving difficult EEO issues/problems and 3) preparing analyses, evaluations, and recommendations on systemic issues in various organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Problem Solving Program Management Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
