Position: Behavioral Health Coordinator

Salary Range: $5,242/month to $7,028/month; Starting Salary DOQ, DOE

*Brief Duties and Responsibilities: *Provides professional support in building and maintaining partnerships among service organizations that offer behavioral health supports and has basic knowledge on best practices, as well as maintains continuous development and implementation of evidence-based practices to support improving behavioral health related outcomes. Collaborates with local community members, health care providers and leaders to promote prevention resources, raise awareness and support the general day-to-day activities of a healthy community in prevention work. Maintains a catalog of resources available in the county for interventions and evidence-based treatments and therapies. Enhance community's ability to recognize depression, suicide risk, and opioid use, intervene with at-risk individuals, and increase community's ability to make appropriate referrals. Assist in understanding and improving suicide risk screening throughout the county and enhance referral options and practices. Work may involve proving support for writing grant applications and/or program proposals. This position is contingent upon grant funding and will cease when grant funding ceases.

*Supervisory Responsibilities: *This position will supervise program staff and any assigned interns or volunteers.

 

Working Environment/Physical Abilities: Working environment includes activities in multiple community venues. Physical abilities required for this position are ones typically related to office operations, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computers, other office equipment, accessing of file cabinets both on and off site, and sufficient hearing and speech ability to communicate verbally.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Education And Experience: B.A. Degree in Education, Health Education, Communications, Social Sciences, or closely related field or education/training and work experience to meet expectations as evaluated by Manager and Director. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with programs related to behavioral health prevention; or a combination of education and experience which would provide the desired knowledge, skills, and training to meet the requirements for the position is preferred. Certified Prevention Professional credential preferred. Completed Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) or Department
