Robert Half Logistics Coordinator in Walbridge, Ohio
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Transportation Operations Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for effectively utilizing our Transportation Management Software (TMS) systems for material movement planning and scheduling.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily operations to track the location and movement of customer shipments.
Provide regular reports to both internal and external customers as required.
Prioritize and organize workflow, monitor daily activities, and ensure the completion of tasks.
Handle and resolve customer problems and complaints to meet customer satisfaction.
Develop innovative strategies to streamline operations processes, adhering to customer requirements and team goals.
Assist with miscellaneous projects as necessary and ensure strict attendance.
Review and amend load assignments as required.
Supervise and dispatch drivers on loads, monitor driver performance and provide necessary feedback.
Constantly track asset location and availability.
Schedule trucks and trailers for regular maintenance service.
Provide immediate follow-ups to management in case of any exceptions.
Occasionally serve as a backup depending on volume or absence.
Closely collaborate with clients and staff to ensure that all operational questions are answered and procedures are observed.
Responsible for creating exception reports, clearly noting all delays or problems.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with necessary familiarity in using telephone, radio, and email.
Strong team player with the ability to handle pressure and meet continuous deadlines.
Proven problem-solving abilities, including seeking alternative solutions to challenges.
Meticulous attention to detail, with a focus on excellent follow-up.
Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
Respectful demeanor along with integrity to foster trust and a positive work environment.
Inventive and innovative, with a knack for bringing creativity to the workplace.
Solid ability in processing information; abilities include compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, auditing, and verifying data.
Skills in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work, with the ability to set and accomplish specific goals.
1 - 3 years of experience serving in an Operations Coordinator role, or a similar role.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook and Excel.
