South County Hospital Risk Management Specialist in Wakefield, Rhode Island
Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Risk Management Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in insurance or law and will support the Risk Management department in managing critical risk-related tasks, including insurance programs, claims processing, and various compliance activities. This position is key in managing risk-related systems (such as RLDatix), supporting claims and legal functions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements. The Risk Management Support Specialist will also support multiple committees and aid with reporting, investigations, and risk resolution.
This is a fast-paced environment, and the candidate must be comfortable handling complex data and systems, and have strong communication skills. This role involves a mix of operational tasks, administrative support, and interaction with multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Program Support: Assist in the administration of the system’s insurance programs, including gathering data, processing policy renewals and filing new claims.
Claims Processing: Facilitate the processing of professional liability claims from initiation to resolution. This includes reviewing, tracking, and reporting on claims status while maintaining accurate records in risk management systems (e.g., RLDatix).
Risk Management Systems Administration: Provide hands-on support in the management and upkeep of risk management databases and systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Compliance & Safety Oversight: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and organizational risk management policies. Assist in the preparation and filing of compliance reports.
Committee Support: Assist in coordinating and supporting multiple risk-related committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and following up on action items.
Investigation & Reporting: Assist in the investigation of incidents, claims, and accidents. Prepare reports, analyze risk trends, and make recommendations for mitigating future risks.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the Risk Management team, including organizing documents, maintaining records, and managing communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in risk management, insurance, legal support, or a related field.
Knowledge: Familiarity with legal systems, insurance, and claims processing systems is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to analyze and interpret data and identify trends.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software tools.
