South County Hospital Director, Facilities Management in Wakefield, Rhode Island

Job Summary: Directs the Facilities Management function to assure efficient planning, operation, and preservation of all properties and equipment constituting South County Hospital and affiliated organizations, and offsite facilities. This position will also direct the Facilities Construction & Development function to assure efficient design, coordination and implementation of major and minor capital projects using delivery methodologies that include integrated project delivery, design-bid-build, design build, etc. while integrating Lean/Six Sigma theory and practice. Responsible for managing the strategic operations of assigned hospital facilities to ensure the operations, maintenance, and vendor management standards are met in a cost effective, safe, and efficient manner. Designs, establishes, organizes and directs the goals, objectives, and standards of performance for department staff; develops implements and interprets operating policies and procedures; and maintains and interprets standards, regulations and codes. Facilitates the planning, design, and construction of the facilities and assets of the hospital under the direction of the Executive Leadership and Board of Directors.

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or related field. Five to seven years of management and leadership experience in a similar role in a healthcare environment, including setting work standards and managing performance of skilled personnel. Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager credential highly desirable. Certified Project Management credential highly desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state and local standards and codes; regulatory and accreditation agency requirements, with a proven track record for maintaining compliance. Knowledge of standard operating procedures for plant operation, including familiarity and compliance with JCAHO, ADA, EPA, OSHA, codes, and CDC. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare facilities design, planning, and construction methodology. Experience with energy conservation and complex HVAC systems, boiler operations, as well as project management and preventative maintenance programs within a healthcare facility. Strong computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
