Description:
Join our Mainframe Database Team as an intern and gain invaluable hands-on experience in a dynamic and professional IT environment! As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting daily operations by responding to and completing email and telephone requests to grant access to various transactions and data. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced team members and clients, honing your communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and time management techniques. Additionally, you will gain exposure to mainframe systems and tools such as TSO, ISPF, and RACF, developing technical skills that are highly sought after in the industry. With structured mentorship, regular check-ins, and a final presentation to demonstrate your progress, this internship provides a comprehensive and rewarding learning experience.
Responsibilities:
Respond to and complete email and telephone requests to grant access to various transactions and data.
Develop skills in mainframe operations, communication, problem-solving, and time management.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolution of access requests.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with TSO, ISPF, and RACF is a plus.
Background or interest in IT-related fields.

Past interns have found the initial challenge of learning mainframe commands manageable with support from the team and have quickly adapted to the role.

Must be a currently enrolled full-time student in a bachelors, masters, or professional level program at an accredited or recently graduated from a North Carolina Historically Black College/University (HBCU) or Minority Serving Institution (MSI) within the past three years.
24 credit hours completed.
Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale)
Has legal right to work in the U.S. and do not need sponsorship
