This position is for a Technical Training Instructor for Electrical Maintenance

SUMMARY

Develops and implements assigned training programs per the Systematic Approach to Training and appropriate training procedures. Assists in the evaluation of training programs and trainees to identify areas for improvement. Administers assigned training program within defined work plans and budget and in accordance with approved procedures and training program descriptions.

Instructor Tech Training (7155)

EDUCATION

• High School/GED or equivalent (Required)

• Bachelors degree in business administration, education, or engineering. (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE

• 2-5 Years experience at the journey level or senior tech level in the commercial nuclear power plant industry. (For Maintenance, Radiation Protection or Chemistry Instructors) (Preferred)

• 2-5 Years security experience in the commercial nuclear power plant industry or in law enforcement. Experience at the Lieutenant level or above in security management preferred. (For Security Instructors.) (Preferred)

• 2-5 Years experience in the commercial nuclear power plant industry. (For General Employee Training Instructors and Non-Accredited Training Instructors) (Preferred)

• 2-5 Years STP or other commercial nuclear plant, experience preferred. Military or industry experience maybe substituted 2 for 1 on a case-by-case basis verifying comparable responsibilities. (Preferred)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Training Instructor Certification (Preferred)

• Adjunct Instructor Certification (Preferred)

• National Rifle Association Certification. Applicable to designated area/department (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

TRAINING INSTRUCTION:

Assists with the development, implementation, and administration of assigned training program per the Systematic Approach to Training in accordance with approved procedures and training program descriptions.

• Implements assigned training, including classroom, laboratory, simulator, field, firing range (Security) and/or in-plant. Assists in all phases of training program administration, including the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.

• Works within approved work plan and budget to implement assigned training. Assists in the evaluation trainees and training programs to identify areas for improvement.

• Utilizes classroom facilitation and management skills to achieve training outcomes for participants. Applies knowledge and skills associated with the specific discipline to evaluate trainee performance.

• Provides instruction and evaluation of process and digital/microprocessor-based components and systems specific to STP. (I&C Training Instructor only)

Instructor Tech Training Sr (7154)

EDUCATION

• High School/GED or equivalent (Required)

• 8-10 Years at journey or senior tech level. Training Instructor INPO Certification strongly preferred. Military or industry exp maybe sub 2 for 1 on case-by-case basis (Preferred)

Coordinates the development, implementation administration and evaluation of assigned training program per the Systematic Approach to Training in accordance with approved procedures and training program descriptions to meet the station needs.

• Coordinates and implements assigned training, including classroom, laboratory, simulator, field, and/or in-plant. Leads all phases of training program administration, including the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.

• Evaluates training programs to identify areas for improvement and development of corrective actions to address identified areas for improvement. Conducts periodic comprehensive training program content and process assessments and audits.

• Utilizes classroom facilitation and management skills to achieve training outcomes for participants. Applies knowledge and skills associated with the specific discipline to evaluate trainee performance.

• Provides instruction and evaluation of process and digital/microprocessor-based components and systems specific to STP. (I&C Training Instructor only)

• Assists supervision, as assigned, to oversee the implementation of training. Contributor in the development and budgeting of work plans and works within approved work plan and budget to implement assigned training.

• Serves on the Curriculum Review Committees and Technical Advisory Committees as Subject Matter Expert (SME) or program coordinator, as assigned. Provides guidance and mentoring to adjunct instructors and SME's.

• Schedules training programs to support station needs. Conducts industry benchmarking, peer self-assessments and industry working group participation, providing process improvement recommendations based on lessons learned.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to operate and/or maintain plant or mock-up equipment, systems, tools, cranes, or forklifts for instructional purposes of the related training discipline. May include maintaining appropriate plant qualifications, licenses, or certifications.

• Ability to perform related discipline activities in the station in support of work and training assignments.

• Participate in developmental opportunities to continually improve job performance and skills.

• Ability to achieve and maintain instructor certifications and applicable discipline specific qualifications and certifications to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accept Outage position.

• Accept ERO position and be able to meet the response requirements.

• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.

ENVIROMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Environmental & Physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.

• Travel may be required.

• Some plant tours and the hazards associated with each.

WORK LOCATION

• Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the worksite.
