Purpose of Job This position is responsible for comprehending and coordinating communications and data between emergency and/or public safety units via a variety of telecommunication methods. Job Functions Gathers information and dispatches appropriate resources to emergency/non-emergency requests. Provides effective coverage of geographic area by strategic deployment of vehicles and appropriate mutual aid coverage. Maintains status of vehicle/equipment breakdowns, services and reporting mechanisms. Demonstrates knowledge of all phone lines and appropriately gathers and disseminates information on a timely basis. Provides appropriate medical instruction to callers. Demonstrates working knowledge of monitoring devices and takes appropriate action when needed. Provides clerical support for the department billing procedures. Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers. Performs other duties as assigned.
