Ridgeview Medical Center Medical Assistant/LPN Podiatry in Waconia, Minnesota
Purpose of Job This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities to assist providers and nursing personnel. Facilitates patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care. Job Functions Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR. Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certifications/licensure. Prepares equipment and assists provers during examination, testing, and treatment of patients. Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at end of the day. Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam rooms. Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary. Assists with patient education. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education/Work Experience Graduate from Medical Assisting Program or School of Practical Nursing Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions Ability to multi-task Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications Ability to work autonomously and as a team Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above License/Certifications Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (New grad's will have 1-year to become certified/licensed in order to maintain employment) Current CPR certification Preferred Qualifications EMR experience Link to Employee Health Physical Demands Ridgeview Medical Center will not discriminate against or harass any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, military service, veteran status, genetic information, union membership, creed, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, status with regards to public assistance, membership in a local human rights commission, or any other category that may be protected by law.
