Position Overview:

As a Welder at PandE Mechanical, you will play a critical role in fabricating, installing, and repairing HVAC heating/cooling systems, and plumbing components, including pipes, boilers, heat exchangers, and other system infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience with pipefitting and hydronic systems and can ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Weld components and assemblies using SMAW/MIG techniques on mild and stainless steel.
• Weld, fabricate, and assemble hydronic piping systems, including steel, stainless steel, and copper materials.
• Perform precision welding (SMAW/MIG, TIG, or Stick) for pipes, fittings, and system components.
• Accurately cut, grind, machine, and form workpieces, including sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel, and angle.
• Inspect completed work for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using tools such as straightedges and templates.
• Collaborate with team members, plumbers, technicians, and project managers to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends, as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success.
• Cut, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication according to blueprints and project specifications.
• Install and secure piping systems for hydronic heating and cooling, ensuring proper alignment and function.
• Conduct quality inspections of welds and system components to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and company protocols, including PPE usage and hazard prevention.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in welding, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing applications.
• Expertise in hydronic plumbing, with the ability to certify hydronic work.
• Proficiency in SMAW/MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on various materials, including mild and stainless steel.
• Familiarity with hydronic system components, including boilers, pumps, and piping.
• Ability to read and interpret SMAW/MIG blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of welding and fabrication standards for plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality, durable welds.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in welding and fabrication.
• Relevant certifications, such as AWS (American Welding Society) or equivalent, preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required.
