We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Manager Logistics Operations (3rd Shift) in Waco, TX.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary:

  • As a Manager Logistics Operations (3rd Shift) , you will have an opportunity to manage all aspects of Inbound storeroom operations including responsibility for Quality, Productivity, Cost, Maintenance and Safety performance.

Additional Info :

  • This role is based in Waco, TX and does not offer relocation

  • This role is 3rd Shift : Sunday-Thursday 10pm-6:30am with the flexibility of doing shift hand offs.

  • This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules

  • This role requires up to 10% domestic travel

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for training, developing and mentoring, all personnel issues, and performance evaluation of subordinates.

  • Responsible for input to the facility business plans including preparation of manpower, capital, and expense budgets.

  • Monitoring and managing key performance criteria.

  • Developing medium term strategic plans and direction.

  • Responsible for safety/environmental compliance.

  • Training and development for 70 associates (including production, support and management).

  • Data collection and analytical activities.

  • Maintaining and updating facility/department metrics.

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Analytical Thinking : Proficiency in EWM (Extended Warehouse Management)/ SAP systems. Proficiency in Business Object and/or Power BI to promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Strong knowledge of at least one of the following: Parts Distribution Operations, Supply Chain, Safety, and/or Quality Functions.

  • Proficiency and proven ability of leading and developing junior leaders.

  • Proficiency in project development.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.

  • Working knowledge with ASRS (Automated Storage Retrieval System)
