DEPARTMENT: Albany County Department of Public WorksSALARY RANGE: $43,464BENEFITS:► Paid Time-Off ► Tuition Reimbursement ► NYS Retirement► Health, Dental, Vision and Hearing ► Employee Assistance ProgramRESPONSIBILITIES:Equipment Operator I is responsible for operating dump trucks to haul sand, gravel, cement, stone, dirt, and other materials on highway construction projects. During the winter, this position will operate truck to spread sand or salt on icy roads, hauling snow to adumping point, and plowing snow. Other jobs include making minor repairs to trucks, construction projects, and driving a power tractor for mowing grass.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:One (1) year of experience in the operation of a truck requiring a Class B license to operate. NOTE: One (1) year of public worksexperience can be substituted for the one (1) year experience in the operation of a truck requiring a Class B license to operate. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:Eligibility and possession of a CDL Class B license with no air brake restrictions issued by the New York State Department of MotorVehicles at time of appointment. In Albany County Department of Public Works, the operator must be able to operate a standardtransmission. License cannot indicate an E restriction.
