Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician performs efficient and effective maintenance activities to maximize safe production of quality products, minimize costs, and protect the environment. The role involves sustaining knowledge, skills, and abilities required for equipment maintenance, including rebuilding large gearboxes, aligning pumps, and other rotary equipment rebuilds. The technician will troubleshoot, fabricate, install, repair, calibrate, check, and adjust equipment, controls, and facilities parts to maintain the highest level of utilization. This role requires collaboration with Electrical and Instrument Technicians and Operating Technicians, as well as assisting in maintaining parts inventory and supporting site safety and security. The technician must be capable of unwiring and rewiring equipment for maintenance and performing basic instrument troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform efficient and effective maintenance activities to maximize production quality and safety.

  • Rebuild large gearboxes, align pumps, and conduct other rotary equipment rebuilds.

  • Perform welding tasks as required (excluding code welding).

  • Troubleshoot, fabricate, install, repair, calibrate, check, and adjust equipment and controls.

  • Work closely with Electrical and Instrument Technicians and Operating Technicians.

  • Assist in maintaining parts inventory.

  • Support site safety and security and assist in work planning with operations, contractors, and plant personnel.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with personnel at all organizational levels.

  • Troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems (480V and below).

  • Unwire and rewire equipment for maintenance and perform basic instrument troubleshooting.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Mechanical maintenance and repair.

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • Preventive maintenance.

  • PLC troubleshooting.

  • Welding (excluding code welding).

  • 3-phase electrical systems.

  • Reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.

  • Industrial maintenance and repair.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the electrical and mechanical field.

  • Certifications in relevant maintenance or safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA).

  • Proficiency in using maintenance management systems.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working with various technologies and equipment, including low voltage electrical systems and PLCs. The role involves day-to-day tasks that align with site goals and require adherence to safety and security protocols. The maintenance technician will work as part of a team, assisting with tasks outside typical responsibilities and ensuring effective communication and professional interaction at all levels.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70000.00
