POSITION PURPOSE
Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day shift activities of the Shipping and Receiving Department, by providing leadership and supervision to Shipping and Receiving employees.
Serves as a link between plant and partner carriers.
Serves as the link between direct reports and middle / upper management.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversees movement of incoming and outgoing materials / product at plant and external warehouse including raw materials, finished goods, scrap, and plant supplies.
Prepares daily LDI reports
Confers and corresponds with Graphic Packaging’s centralized services and logistic groups
Communicates with carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials, including pickup and delivery times, damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
Communicates customer shipping requirements to scheduling and material handlers
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
Determines space requirements and placement of shipments in trucks and in warehouse
Maintains corrugate inventory and orders daily based on production needs
Works with vendors to create and change corrugate specifications according to new business and/or for continuous improvement opportunities.
Oversees daily audits of product movement and inventory location to ensure accuracy
Researches, compiles, and prepares reports, correspondence, and other information pertaining to incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as, identifies and resolves report discrepancies or errors.
Examines procedures and recommends changes to save time, labor, and other costs and to improve quality control and operating efficiency.
Works with employees to maintain a safe work environment. Leads and supports subordinates to work in a safe manner and to seek improvements in work practices.
Observes subordinates to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Responsible for department housekeeping including WIP area, offsite warehouse, and bale room.
Ensures maintenance of material handling equipment. Ensures inspections are conducted. Ensures maintenance is notified of defective equipment.
Instructs subordinates in job duties or arranges for training to be provided.
Facilitates team meetings, intervenes as necessary to keep the team’s goals and results consistent with company direction, and works with the team members to develop their full potential.
Initiates and conducts personnel actions such as discipline, performance evaluations, and payroll
Evaluates subordinate job performance and recommends appropriate personnel action.
Administer, communicate, and interprets work procedures and company policies to subordinates
Provides subordinates with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems. Resolves grievances or submits unsettled disputes to management.
May deliver or route materials to departments using work devices such as hand truck, fork truck, or roll grab
Maintains packing specs in SAP
Weekend rotation – coverage

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Instructions: Identify the knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors necessary to perform the job competently. Make sure job specifications represent bona fide occupational qualifications.
High School Diploma, GED
BS degree in related field and/or equivalent experience in a converting facility is preferred
Leadership Skills - ability to motivate people to perform at high levels
Computer Skills: SAP, MS Office, and database programs
Experience with web presses and straight-line gluers is preferred
On call scheduling resource outside normal work hours
Professional oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented, self-starter , organized
Ability to work overtime (greater than 40 hours per week)
This person will work the second shift, 4:00pm - 12:00am PST.
Pay Range: [[60k]] - [[85k]]
