The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
General Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to oncology patients within the Wilmot Cancer Institute's Infusion Centers. The APP (Advanced Practice Provider) will evaluate, manage, and support patients undergoing chemotherapy and medical therapies, ensuring optimal outcomes through acute and chronic symptom management, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary oncology teams. This role supports several infusion center locations and requires excellent communication, independent judgment, and adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic healthcare environment.
FT position available, Monday through Friday, primarily daytime hours. 5, 8 hours shifts. Rotating weekends
Great opportunity to work in the Infusion Centers at various Wilmot Cancer Institutes. The primary location will be Strong Memorial Hospital and Webster, but the APP could on occasion, cover the infusions centers in Batavia, Highland Hospital or Canandaigua. Coverage in Webster also includes occasional clinic coverage. The APP will provide care to oncology patients receiving chemotherapy and medical therapies for management of malignancies. Direct patient care responsibilities include evaluation and management of acute illness and chronic symptom management, chemotherapy and drug reactions, patient, family, and staff education. The advanced practice provider will be working closely with several different oncology teams including solid malignancy and hematology, therefore the APP must demonstrate excellent communication skills with proven ability in exercising independent judgment and initiative. There is a robust on-boarding plan. Must be NYS eligible for NP or PA certification.
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner
Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
Physician Assistant
Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
