Ready for Hard Work? Join Road & Rail Services as a Track Worker/Equipment Operator!

If you have experience with railroad track work, earth-moving heavy equipment, or are no stranger to tough, physically demanding outdoor work, we want to talk to you. Road & Rail Services is looking for hard-working individuals who are ready to learn, stay long-term, and take on the challenge of maintaining and installing railroad tracks in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. This is a job for those who are serious about growing their career and taking pride in a job well done.

About the Role: As a Track Worker/Equipment Operator, you'll be part of a dedicated crew responsible for installing and maintaining railroad tracks and right-of-ways. Expect physically demanding work in all weather conditions-this job is not for the faint of heart. But if you're used to heavy lifting, working outdoors, and getting your hands dirty, you'll thrive in this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform heavy-duty labor including installing, removing, and maintaining railroad track components like rails, ties, and bars.

  • Operate heavy equipment for rail cutting, material handling, and track alignment.

  • Remove and replace track components, sort and load materials, and ensure proper rail safety.

  • Work with hand tools and heavy machinery to ensure smooth and efficient rail operations.

  • Conduct vegetation clearance to maintain safe right-of-way conditions.

  • Participate in safety meetings, briefings, and follow strict safety protocols at all times.

  • Be on-call for urgent repairs and maintenance tasks, as this is a 24/7 operation.

    What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous outdoor labor experience required-especially in track work, railroad maintenance, or earth-moving equipment operation.

  • Work Ethic: This job requires hard work and dedication. If you've worked in tough conditions before, you're the type of person we need.

  • Reliability: We are looking for individuals who are ready to commit and grow with us. High turnover isn't our goal, and we want people who are in it for the long haul.

  • Physical Strength & Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), work in physically demanding conditions, and handle manual labor.

  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this role.

Why Choose Road & Rail Services?

  • Competitive Pay: Starting at $20/hr with potential to earn $24/hr based on experience.

  • Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and 401(k) retirement plan, plus paid vacations and holidays.

  • Growth Opportunities: We believe in promoting from within, with plenty of room for career advancement.

  • Tools & Gear: We provide all necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and a steel-toe boot allowance annually.

    Important Notes:

  • This role is physically demanding and requires someone who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and at elevated heights.

  • Our business operates 24/7, and you'll need to be on-call for emergencies, including weekends and after-hours work.

  • We will not consider candidates with multiple job changes in the past year or individuals who have never worked in physically intensive outdoor roles.
