JOB DETAILS

This position will be assigned to OB/Labor & Delivery/Postpartum working variable shifts to include a weekend and holiday rotation.

Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) is seeking highly skilled professional nurses for our new System-wide Internal Travel RN Program. This program offers a regular, benefited position (including a no premium health insurance option) for those that like to travel yet allows the opportunity to be an employed member of the MCHS Team. The specialty RN will take a variety of assignments in one of five specialty areas in our Wisconsin hospitals. The specialty areas include OB/Labor and Delivery/Postpartum, Emergency/Urgent Care, Surgery/CIRV, Intermediate/Med Surg/Telemetry and Critical Care. The Internal Travel RN will take on a variety of 6 and 12 week assignments, rotating throughout our Wisconsin facilities. Shift times and placement sites may vary with every assignment.

Marshfield Medical Center - Beaver Dam

Marshfield Medical Center - Eau Claire

Marshfield Medical Center - Marshfield

Marshfield Medical Center - Minocqua

Marshfield Medical Center - Rice Lake

Marshfield Medical Center - Weston

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse System-Wide Internal Travel Pool functions as a highly skilled & vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of Marshfield Clinic Health System by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self-development, and teamwork. S/he utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families. This individual demonstrates excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and makes decisions consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Diploma or degree in nursing.

Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: Two years nursing experience in one specialty area:

  • Medical/surgical/intermediate care

  • Surgical/medical critical care

  • Surgery (OR)

  • Cardiovascular and interventional radiology (CVIR)

  • Emergency/Urgent Care

  • Labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (OB).

Preferred/Optional: Greater than two years in at least one specialty area.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required:

  • Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

  • Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).

Preferred/Optional:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.

  • Department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location) at time of hire.

  • Nurse Certification in specialty.
