JEA System Administrator Associate (Microsoft, Windows, IT Compliance) in United States

Professional work that installs, configures, operates, maintains and troubleshoots servers and other computer systems. Provides support services to facilitate efficient and effective use of traditional and cloud system resources. Maintains data files and monitors the system configuration to ensure data integrity. Responds to service outages and other problems.

  • Conducts server builds, applies patches, release upgrades and modifications to server operating system hardware and software.
  • Configures, optimizes, fine-tunes, monitors and maintains server operating system and system applications.
  • Performs system administration tasks, including adding users, user groups and accounts.
  • Performs system backups and recovery procedures.
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software, networking and production issues.
  • Monitors and manages system resources, including server performance, CPU usage, disk usage, backup systems, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Writes or modifies basic scripts and performs light programming to resolve performance problems and automate systems administration tasks.
  • Maintains system documentation and logs.
  • Documents procedures, including drawings to illustrate applications server hardware, software and network configuration.
  • Solves routine and recurring problems and identifies and suggests solutions to more complex problems.
  • Gathers research data and assists in testing and evaluating vendor hardware, software and system components as required.
  • Assist in planning and developing procedures for operating under both normal and emergency conditions.
  • Assists in disaster recovery testing.
  • Participates in ongoing training to continuously upgrade technical knowledge and skills.
  • Performs other job-related work as assigned

_OPEN REQUIREMENTS:_

An associate degree in computer science or related discipline and two (2) years of professional experience in a system administration role in a large corporate environment for the discipline and/or specialty area(s) being recruited (see below).

Applicants that are actively enrolled in and attending college and are within their final year of the Computer Science degree program will be deemed eligible, allowed to test/interview for the position and if successful will be placed on the eligibility list. Successful completion of the degree must be presented prior to hire date

Four (4) year combination of education, training, and experience in installing, supporting, and maintaining servers and other computer systems in a large corporate environment for the discipline and/or specialty area(s) being recruited (see below).

_Windows:_One (1) year of experience must be in a Windows environment.

A valid driver's license may be required depending upon assignment and if required, must be maintained during employment in this classification.

The certifications and licensing below must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Failure to obtain required certifications may be cause for termination. Certifications and licensing must be maintained during employment in this job class.

/The full salary range for this position is $57,928.00 - $87,588.80. Salary will vary based on education, experience, skills, and abilities./
