About the Opportunity

The Enterprise Data Services team has an immediate opening for a Support Engineer. Our team delivers a centralized data and analytics platform that provides advanced data migration and analytics solutions for our bank district customers. We work with state-of-the-art technologies that are part of the next generation data ecosystem, which includes tools used for data storage, data processing, data integration, data lakes, data warehousing, and data analytics. This position will work directly with the Enterprise Business Intelligence Shared Services team.

This position is responsible for contributing to the success of the System’s Business Intelligence Shared Service Applications by leading process improvement initiatives related to content management, customer onboarding, and platform utilization. This role requires versatility and a drive to learn and pursue continuous improvement with the ability to work well in a diverse and cross-functional team. Projects will range in duration and complexity, and they will require direct consultation with business partners, technical subject matter experts, and IT service providers.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with the team to manage and support a Business Intelligence ecosystem including Tableau Server, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Prep Builder, PowerBI, Power Platform Shared Workspaces, Alteryx designer, Alteryx Server and any other BI application we deploy to provide or benefit customer reporting.

  • Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep involve supporting users with designing visualizations and troubleshooting.

  • PowerBI involves supporting users with designing visualizations and troubleshooting.

  • Selected candidate will support multiple user communities by building relationships and communicating frequently.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years' experience with Tableau Desktop and PowerBI.

  • Tableau or PowerBI certifications preferred.

  • Moderate to high skills in data visualization and data management required.

  • Moderate skill with scripting and query languages such as SQL and Python required.

  • Experience with AWS or other public cloud providers strongly preferred.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to end-users via formal presentations and informal coaching/consultation.

  • Strong organization and time management skills required.

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and/or work-related experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.

  • May require some weekend or evening hours.

  • Ability to work independently and with general supervision and direction. May consult with more senior staff in decision making.

  • The hiring range for the Experienced level Cloud Engineer is $90,200 - $123,970 annually.

  • For candidates outside Richmond, VA, listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.

  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
