At our site in Zhangjiagang, we are currently looking for a(n) Sr. Project & Plant Engineer - Civil.
Job Responsibilities:
Work in interdisciplinary and intercultural project teams.
Support the Civil/Project/Engineering Manager with regard to various infrastructures and upper ground structures engineering issues, including investment project and plant maintenance.
Prepare and lead project design basis and scope (Front-End-Engineering) including user requirement collection, technology selection, design specification preparation, design drawing input and review, design calculations, budget estimations, alternatives study and evaluation etc.
Actively participate in project HAZOP and EHSS reviews, provide necessary inputs.
Provide necessary input to prepare cost estimation and project schedule in support of project. planning. Project cost and schedule should be analyzed for accuracy and completeness.
Interact with construction and site personnel (e.g. construction manager, plant-manager, maintenance engineers) to ensure that the project is constructed according to plans. Communicate with team members regarding any changes, deviations and progress during project execution.
Provide guidance and technical support to resolve construction problems.
Represent the owner interests in the project towards the Local design institute, Material vendor, Construction company, etc.
Provide technical support during start-up including "trouble-shooting".
Accompany the close out of the project by establishing punch lists and acceptance protocols, preparation or checking of as-built drawings, cost and project reconciliation and take part in the lessons learned session at the end of the project.
Search actively for opportunities to improve project performance and cut investment costs during all phases.
Establish local know-how in the relevant discipline and share with other/new project members/teams.
Plants daily and preventative maintenance work in the field of civil, including vendor selection, frame contractor appraisal, work permit approval, maintenance construction quality/safety/schedule management, change order management etc.
Support technical procurement for the preparation of technical specification and BOQ, attendance of bidding clarification meeting, TBA and vendor nomination etc. for both INV project and maintenance work.
EHSS management during project execution and maintenance activities.
Other work assigned by Supervisor in discipline, or by Project manager in project execution and by Plant in maintenance work.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum educational background and professional experience:
Bachelor's degree or above with the education major of civil.
Mini. 8 years of working experience in field of Civil.
Working experience in the field of civil in chemical or other industry project.
Working experience on the role of project manager.
Working experience as ownership or EPCm company is preferred.
Working experience with civil facility maintenance, decoration and lab project would be a plus.
Skills/Interests
Effective communication skills in English (oral and writing) are mandatory.
Strong leadership skills.
Familiar with and interest in educating and developing people.
Familiar with the procedures of project engineering practices and project management
Knowledge of relevant legislation, official specifications, regulations and technical instructions.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge of CAD and SAP would be helpful.
Strong and effective communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Good organizational and analytical abilities.
Presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
Strong spirit of teamwork.
Willingness to continuously build knowledge and broaden skills.
High flexibility, high sense of responsiveness, open mindedness.
Ability and willingness for domestic travel.
