As a Solution Architect within PNC's Solution Architecture & Strategy organization, you will be based in one of our Technology hubs (Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, Dallas, TX). Weekly time in the office is required.
Core hours are 8am-5pm EST. Occasional night/weekend work can be expected
Travel to Pittsburgh or Cleveland 4 – 6 times a year

Job Overview
We’re seeking a seasoned Intelligence Engineering Solution Architect to lead the design of robust intelligence engineering and automation infrastructure across our cloud and on-premises environments. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing secure intelligence and automation architectures, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices across our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Design intelligence, automation, and AI/ML architectures across cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring alignment with organizational compliance and security standards.
Establish and enforce security controls to safeguard data, applications, and infrastructure from a wide range of threats and vulnerabilities.
Conduct comprehensive architecture assessments to ensure the security, availability, resilience, scalability, compliance, and transparency of intelligence, automation, and AI/ML architectures, meeting both organizational and regulatory requirements.
Recommend improvements to intelligence, automation, and AI/ML architectures, with a proactive focus on enhancing security, availability, resilience, scalability, compliance, and transparency.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate best practices into architectural designs.
Create architecture artifacts, including impact analyses, diagrams (e.g., C4, UML, sequence, and deployment), and documentation that meet project-specific needs.
Research and recommend cutting-edge technologies in intelligence engineering, automation, and AI/ML, aligning them with business objectives and organizational standards.
Serve as a liaison to vendors, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on architecture, feasibility, and compliance with best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+, are preferred.
Minimum of 5 years in intelligence or automation architecture, engineering, or related fields.
Technical Skills
Understanding of security protocols, encryption, authentication, and authorization techniques.
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, etc).
Familiarity with different types of UML or C4 modeling diagrams.
Familiarity with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN).
Communication
Excellent communication, with the ability to present complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, compliance and business teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
Job Description
Designs solution roadmaps, according to business strategies and processes in solution architecture, through client requirement analysis, cross-team collaboration and problem resolution.
Designs solution roadmaps, and system and software architecture according to business strategies and solution architecture standards/processes.
Analyzes client requirements and determines appropriate solutions to these requirements based on business needs.
Resolves routine to moderately complex problems and issues in solution architecture; assesses any potential risks and determines solutions to these risks.
Works with other solution architecture staff, technology experts and business stakeholders to provide functional support to clients on solution architecture updates.
