Position Description

Serco-NA is actively seeking a motivated individual to provide systems engineering support to the United States Air Force Civil Engineering NexGen project.In this role, you will work with our dynamic NexGen team to support critical Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities for the Air Force customer. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful design, analysis and development of systems engineering solutions to the Air Force CE community across more than 200 bases worldwide.

The successful applicant must be flexible, self-motivated, and well-organized. You must have the ability to build relationships and work effectively across multiple levels of the organization. Excellent customer service, communication and analysis skills are a plus. If you possess a strong desire to learn and grow you will love working with the NexGen IT Team.

In this role, you will:

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of Systems Engineering projects.

• Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and develop solutions.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code and scripts.

• Troubleshoot and debug system issues.

• Maintain and update existing software applications.

• Follow systems engineering best practices and processes.

• Contribute to the documentation of systems designs and solutions.

• Apply security patches and STIGS as directed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Ability to transfer/maintain an Secret Clearance

• US citizenship required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related degree and 8 years of experience in a systems engineering role with Comprehensive understanding of embedded systems, including hardware-software interactions, real-time constraints, and low-level programming concepts

• Having read experience with a programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.

• 5+ years of linux operating system administration

• Ability to pass the Security+ certification within 3 months of the hire date.

• Travel up to 10%

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $112,133.01 to $186,888.35; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
