TITLE : Senior Project Engineer
DUTIES : FEV North America, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Engineer in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Serve in a lead role within the Engine and Hybrid Powertrain Systems business unit, responsible for managing projects, mentoring lesser
experienced engineers, and providing general technical direction to the team. Support heavy-duty diesel engine development and testing programs for on-road and non-road applications, as well as, spark-ignited, gas, and hybrid powertrain systems. Conduct engine and aftertreatment system testing, which includes emission certification. Provide customer communication, which includes presenting collected data, interpreting technical data, and communicating program status, as well as, guiding technical discussions regarding project direction. Support proposal preparation efforts, which includes writing, resource planning, and reviewing prior to submission to the customer.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering and 36 months of experience in the job offered or related.
Education and / or experience must include: Developing spark ignited and diesel fueled combustion engines; Developing aftertreatment systems, including DOC/DPF and SCR components; Conducting on-board diagnostics (OBD); Conducting emission certification testing, including applying US testing requirements (per code of federal regulations), and heavyduty engine test protocols conducted on engine dynamometer, including HD-FTP, RMC, LLC, Clean Idle, NTE and GHG; Applying development, calibration, and engine controller interface tools, including INCA, Matlab, and Morphee.
