Position Summary

The Senior Production Planner (Senior Master Planner) controls and manages millions of dollars of inventory and shipments by properly scheduling and analyzing of products as derived from market forecasts, customer orders and trend analysis, and inputs these requirements into the planning system. This position entails developing weekly production requirements and releasing work orders, scheduling of sales orders, interfacing with customer service, sales professionals, purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing to meet customer expectation.

Job Duties

  • Formulates the master production plan that best meets market forecasts, inventory objectives, and customer requirements based on value stream constraints.

  • Loads MRP based on agreed-upon build plan driving site-level inventory spend.

  • Escalates build interruptions for resolution to ensure excellent customer service.

  • Schedule sales orders in Oracle to availability, SSQ lead-time and to best meet customer’s requirements.

  • Work with Customer Sales Support to resolve scheduling issues as well as Manufacturing to resolve any Purchasing and Production issues.

  • Resolve daily MRP problems, including identifying product structure problems, input, and other errors.

  • Participate in new product implementation and handle Phase-In/Phase-out planning for their products that will assist in minimizing obsolete inventory and provide a smooth timely product implementation.

  • Monitor and report production schedule planning and manufacturing accuracy Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions to support master planning.

  • Constantly maintain, evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in material requirements planning (MRP) to drive down inventory levels.

  • Maintain and develop standard work as needed, train team members, and serve as a point of escalation when required.

  • Provides inputs to demand planning on shipment schedules, plans, and forecasts based on capacity. (S&OP process).

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, or related field.

  • Five (5) years of experience in supply chain planning.

  • OR High School Diploma plus

  • Thirteen (13) years of experience in supply chain planning.

  • Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • Advanced experience with MRP and Master Planning.

Preferred Experience

  • MBA or advanced degree, preferred.

  • APICS certification, preferred.

  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment, preferred.

  • Oracle experience, preferred.

Work Schedule

  • This is a hybrid schedule opportunity based in Point Richmond, CA.

  • The schedule is 3 days/week onsite, 2 days/week remote.

  • The site operates M-Th (9 hours), F (4 hours).

  • Designated work from home days will be discussed with manager.

    Pay range for this opportunity is [[$90,250]] - [[$110,000]].

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
