Summary
The Senior Manager, Operations for the Technology & Product Development (TPD) group is responsible for coordinating essential daily activities driving successful execution for the entire TPD team. This role requires strategic coordination with the TPD engineering leadership team to ensure rapid delivery of innovative solutions to both customer programs and R&D projects. Staffing, planning, financial forecasting, employee training, communications, and logistics are all key duties for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General staffing – manpower forecasts, supporting interview process, onboarding, coordination of program assignments with engineering leaders and program management
Responsible for all budgetary and forecasting tasks for all Defense & Security R&D projects globally and working with Finance team to maintain forecasts and provide timely reporting on actuals/forecast as required leveraging the company prescribed financial tools
Ensures customer programs, R&D projects and other supporting initiatives are effectively staffed and are executed to planned budgets
Closed coordination and effective communication with TPD Senior Director on relevant issues and status
Leads agile execution leveraging SAFe for all D&S R&D projects and customer programs staffed by the TPD team
Coordinate employee performance reviews with engineering leaders
Works with the rest of the TPD leadership team to enhance employee morale and retention rate
Responsible via delegation for supporting sales team via proposal writing, reviewing and BOE support
Facilitates project status reporting for all projects in execution in the TPD portfolio
Along with the rest of the TPD leadership team, supports employees as a resource to eliminate roadblocks, answer questions, etc.
Coordinating training plans (both corporate and technical) with engineering leaders and timely completions of corporate training tasks
Facilitate procurement needs for R&D projects
Effective delegation of tasks to N-1 team members to maximize team efficiency
Facilitates communication of TPD team accomplishments via TPD newsletter and other mechanisms
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (preferably Computer or Electrical), or Computer Science
At least 10 years of experience in simulation and modeling or related industry
Leadership skills necessary to manage a small team, experience with Agile methodologies preferred
Knowledge of Software Development and Integration, Systems Engineering, and hardware interfaces
Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
Must be eligible for DoD Security Clearance, eligibility for Top Secret clearance preferred

Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a critical role for the organization and CAE and will require majority of time in office.
