Senior Manager, Cyber Operations

About the Role: We are actively seeking an accomplished and strategic leader and cyber defense professional to lead the Cyber Threat Hunting & Intelligence (CTHI) and Firewall teams. In this position, you will work collaboratively and efficiently while responding to incidents, threats, managing web application firewalls (WAF) and review firewall requests for Conduent. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director, Security Operations. As the leader of the CTHI and Firewall teams, you will shape the vision, development, and execution of our security strategies. This is a hands-on role that will drive and lead security efforts and initiatives; and enhance SecOps monitoring, investigation, and response. Additionally, you will provide both direct and indirect leadership, mentorship, security education and technical direction for a diverse group of security professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Lead a firewall team in managing web application firewalls throughout Conduent and review firewall requests to ensure security compliance and best practices.

  • Lead a threat hunting and intel program to proactively search for and identify potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities in an organization's network.

  • Proactively identify and respond to emerging threats through continuous monitoring and sophisticated analysis.

  • Utilize various tools and techniques to detect and investigate potential threats, analyze data to determine the scope and severity of the threat, and develop strategies to mitigate the risk.

  • Utilize cyber threat intelligence to convert intelligence into useful detection user cases and alerts.

  • Work with security partners developing and refining monitoring use cases

  • Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify potential threats before they cause harm.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to establish and maintain high-performance teams.

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional development within for your team.

  • Improve processes internal and external processes to increase team performance and efficiency.

  • Develop KPI and metrics to measure team performance.

  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate security into every facet of the organization.

  • Effectively communicate security strategies and updates to stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of the pivotal role security plays.

  • Be a good fit for our growing and expanding Security Operations team that is reinventing itself as a key player in both our technology and application support teams.

  • Need to be able to communicate, collaborate and set achievable security projects, programs and targets while understanding business constraints.

  • Come from an information security or threat management background with a proven background of moving security objectives successfully in a matrixed organization.

  • A bridge between different personnel in different teams or departments and helps them all understand and work collaboratively for the greater good of security.

  • Despite the global distributed nature of your team, you will work within in a tightly knit, highly functioning CISO unit.

Requirements:

  • Five years’ experience of leading or working with a team of security professionals to drive security-based outcomes.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking capabilities, translating strategies seamlessly into actionable plans.

  • Hands-on experience across a spectrum of security technologies, encompassing threat intel platforms, QRadar SIEM, Imperva WAF, and EDR tooling such as Carbon Black.

  • Robust technical expertise in network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience with information security and data privacy governance.

  • Minimum of five years’ experience with security operations and forensic processes

  • Familiar with third party risk controls and frameworks. (NIST, ISO, PCI, HIPAA or CIS controls and benchmarks)

  • Experience working with and communication to senior and executive management.

  • Comfortable speaking with clients and managing external auditors when required.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues

  • Strong project management skills and ability to sequence and prioritize complex tasks

  • Previous system administration or network engineering experience a plus

  • IT Security Certifications a plus - such CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA

  • Travel - up to 10 percent

  • Pay Transparency Laws in some locations require disclosure of compensation-related information. For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and flexible paid time off and sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $120,080 – $150,000.
