Southco Inc Senior Engineer - Manufacturing in United States

About the role

Leverage mastery of engineering concepts to develop products and processes that astound our customers and deliver superior service. Complete a wide range of assigned projects in line with project quality, schedule, and cost requirements. Interface with internal and external customers to solve problems, refine product specifications and ensure that each project delivers results that satisfy the customer. Lead and advise less experienced engineering staff in areas of product design, manufacturing, and quality.

Compensation: $100,000-$115,000

What you will be doing

  • Apply engineering principles to deliver complex projects in line with specified goals. Develop innovative solutions to project challenges. Where appropriate, identify potential for intellectual property protection.

  • Demonstrate mastery of product design, manufacturing, and/or quality processes across multiple disciplines. Examples include: design for manufacture, design for six sigma, primary manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping, turning, machining, casting), tooling design, and product assembly ranging from manual to fully automated. Utilize these concepts to enhance product design and manufacturing processes.

  • Lead engineering, CAD modeling, and support staff. Support the knowledge and career development of entry level (Engineer I & II) staff.

  • Lead design review processes to protect the Southco brand and ensure optimal product quality and cost.

  • Interface with internal and external customers to optimize product specifications, delivery and quality and support both the acquisition of new business and the support of existing business.

  • Demonstrate continued learning and keep current with the latest developments in the field. Propose and validate improved methods to enhance Southco’s engineering efforts.

  • BS Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering

  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
