What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: Generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Team. Coordinates lessons learned, process improvements, and Quality training efforts. Work at this level requires extensive experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Training Teammates on QA/QC regulations and Codes and Standards.
Establishing a safe work environment and communicating the Company commitment to safety for teammates, clients and vendors.
Planning and organizing the work of the team. Communicating the plan to the team and Company leadership.
Developing assigned personnel including mentoring, assignment and performance assessments.
Maintaining control of the Company QA/QC efforts by ensuring that execution systems are established and remain in place to maintain performance, budget progress, schedule commitments and quality standards.
Familiarity with and utilization of office standards.
Ideal Background
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related field from an accredited university is required.
Certification: Certification/Training for ISO 9000/Lead Auditor, Special Practices (NDE; Welding), Vendor Surveillance Management and Construction Activities Inspection Methods is preferred.
Experience: This position requires 15 or more years of relevant experience in Quality Management System and EPC Project Quality Assurance Management.
Demonstrated experience in planning and directing all aspects of Quality Assurance for EPC projects as well as hands-on experience performing QMS, QA and QC related activities for EPC projects.
Understanding of the Hargrove Management System and how it relates to assuring the requirements for engineering, procurement and construction are achieved.
Providing training for basic quality concepts such as the QMS approach for work process development, orientation and control, auditing, root cause analysis, non-conformance resolution, corrective and preventative actions and lessons learned.
Auditing, reviewing and reporting skills to assess project performance compliance against the project lessons learned.
Providing assistance to Project Managers in aligning the project Team with the goals and objectives of the project, and assuring follow-up on actions necessary to achieve alignment performance.
Quality direction and setting quality expectations for construction quality activities and supporting the efforts throughout the execution, start-up and commissioning including assuring the expectations are achieved and having functional responsibility for QC execution via the Site QA/QC Manager(s).
Assisting Hargrove leadership in customer satisfaction efforts.
Proactively seeking to identify areas in non-compliance with the project plans, procedures and/or corporate processes and advising Project managers immediately for their corrective action.
Assisting the project team in measuring their performance in achieving the obligations of the project.
Assisting the Team in understanding where to obtain information, including identifying subject matter experts relating to the scope of the project.
Detailed understanding of the project contracts and of the product and services to be delivered, and assuring that these requirements are translated into the project plans and procedures used to meet these obligations.
Managing supplier quality processes and assisting in resolving issues identified by the Project Management and/or Procurements Teams. This includes interfacing with the various groups on product quality, coordinating/performing supplier surveillance or inspection activities.
Reviewing project deliverables for compliance to client QA requirements and objectives.
Promoting the use of Lessons Learned processes and acting as the focal point for collecting and deploying the lessons of the project.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders or perform duties utilizing a safety harness while working at elevated heights.
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment.
Ability to perform work outdoors or in process units in hot or cold climates.
Ability to perform duties within confined spaces for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
