WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Custom Welder Fabricator is a key position at our QMC Cranes facility. You’ll be working in an automotive shop, primarily using MIG, TIG and Stick welding, flame-cutting and carbon arc equipment to fabricate class-eight heavy duty crane trucks.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you’ll primarily work with the welding team, and interact with the Hydraulic Technicians.
A highlight of your day to day will include:
Fabricating metal parts and assemblies by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Using welding machines, oxy- acetylene torches, plasma cutters, various hand and power tools, cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment.
Positioning, aligning, fitting and welding parts to form complete units, subunits or assemblies.
Inspecting completed work for conformance to specifications. Ensuring work products meet specifications, including dimensional criteria, squareness standards and weld call outs through personal checking of product.
Studying and reviewing production drawings to determine material requirements and task sequences.
