POSITION SUMMARY Government and Commercial Proposals

As a Proposal Writer/Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring IMRI provides a complete, responsive, high quality and on time proposal on strategic, large and/or critical proposals from RFP to final delivery to the customer. The Proposal Writer/Manager will work with multiple lines of business within to help bid and win new business for the company within the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian Agencies, and Commercial and State/Local customers. You will collaboratively work with subject matter experts to refine solutions and develop themes, write clear and persuasive proposal sections, and incorporate feedback from color team reviewers and division managers. You will be responsible for the preparation of proposals sections and revision of existing proposals to meet new requirements.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Full ownership and leadership of proposal development and delivery, including pre-submittal questions, written and oral deliveries, evaluation notices (ENs) or pre-award questions, and final proposal revisions (FRPs).

  • Full ownership and leadership of the development of requests for information, market surveys, past performance write-ups, white papers, partner data calls, and capabilities/gap analysis matrices.

  • Plan, schedule, budget, outline and lead proposal kickoff meetings, stand-up meetings, text development, past performance questionnaires, review sessions, and production of proposal products.

  • Prepare proposals with a thorough understanding of evaluation criteria and winning strategies. Use analytical, editorial, and writing skills to help proposal teams develop persuasive messages and focused proposal language relating to prospect's expectations and our firm's differentiators/competitive advantages.

  • Advise and assist assembly of appropriate authors, section leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other support personnel to successfully develop a proposal.

  • Communicate proposal-related requirements and status with senior management.

  • Write / prepare sections of proposals based on modification of our existing database of proposals.

  • Interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Subcontractor teammates to extract content details and write proposal sections accordingly. Review written sections with SMEs for accuracy and with Capture Managers to ensure inclusion of win strategies in the document and compliance with formats dictated in the RFP/RFI and proposal plan.

  • Use appropriate internet research methods to obtain information and pertinent materials to write original technical text, management, past performance, executive summaries and other proposal sections.

  • Assess impact of amendments and changes to RFPs. Modify proposal as necessary in response to amendments and changes.

  • Ensure the production of proposals and pursuit deliverables are compliant, clear, meet a high level of quality and are delivered on time.

  • Follow proposal development process based on Shipley methods or similar.
