Who We Are

What We Want
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research in chemistry. The selected candidate will also be responsible for writing manuscripts, developing research proposals, and helping with graduate student mentoring and group organization. What You Need to Know
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience. Special Note: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.
Schedule: May require working evening and/or weekend hours.
Required Education and Experience
Appropriate PhD
No experience is required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to cultivate and maintain professional working relationships
Expertise in electrochemistry, instrumentation, and general analytical measurements
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related field
Graduate student research in electrochemical measurement, preferably in electrochemical imaging
Responsibilities:
Research: Conduct research in specific field.
Scientific Contributions: Participate in analyzing and disseminating data results as part of participation in group meetings. Prepare manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers/presentations, and grant proposals. Make presentations of results at group meetings and other appropriate venues.
Organizational Compliance and Safety: Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement. Stay up to date on scientific research via reading of literature. Provide advice and assistance to other laboratory team members. Act as a mentor to students. Maintain laboratory instrumentation and follow applicable safety standards.
Grants and Research: Responsible for the Baker Research Group project development in NSF center activities.
Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate progress on graduate student projects for graduate student researchers developing electrochemical microscopes. Perform other duties as assigned.
