SUMMARY This is an opportunity to join a growing, dynamic and responsible company that fosters the development of our employees. We are seeking a Material Control Coordinator. Position will be based in an in-office role, and is not eligible for relocation assistance. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the management of inventory assets, performing purchasing functions and necessary shipping and receiving support across a particular region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All team members must embody the company mission to provide protection for people, property, and the environment in all aspects of their job.

  • Perform purchasing function in support of all branches in a region including: ordering, shipping, checking status of orders via vendors/suppliers websites, receiving and returns.

  • Process Sales Orders for all regions.

  • Process Part Orders generated through Field Service System.

  • Process spare parts order shipments to technical staff which may include items sold during service visits requiring replacement from warehouse inventory.

  • Approve and input part number additions, and deletions to inventory system.

  • Update inventory system with new pricing when requested.

  • Pull, assemble, and prepare for shipment required inventory items from shipping orders including all necessary documentation required by carrier such as Bill of Lading, Hazardous Shipment Documents, MSDS, UPS documentation and manifest record keeping, etc.

  • Orders are to be inspected for quality by ensuring accuracy, security and completeness.

  • This includes purchasing, receiving, shipping and maintaining log books for ATF regulated explosive shipments.

  • Adhere to ATF and DOT requirements in handling of explosives for receipt, packaging or shipment.

  • Product returns including component return shipping, documentation, and follow up to insure items returned for warranty claim to vendors, customer repairs, refurbishments, and credits are expedited and credit received by ORR Protection. This may include materials from other branches.

  • Support reorder process for assigned branches and vehicles.

  • Maintain warehouse for branches.

  • Analyze reorder points and make recommendations for warehouse.

  • Replenish stock as required.

  • Participate in semi-annual physical inventory.

  • Maintain accurate explosive log books, and conduct monthly counts to verify accuracy of physical inventory to log book and accounting/inventory system.

  • Approve and input part number additions and deletions to inventory system.

  • Support update of system with new vendor pricing.

  • Maintain Vendor/Supplier ship to address & email addresses.

  • Send monthly Open Sales Order reports and Open Purchase Order reports to branches.

  • Participate in semi-annual physical inventory, and/or cycle counts.

  • Look for opportunities for cost savings, or utilization of surplus inventory where possible.

  • Periodic transportation of items to various, nearby locations for delivery or pickup.

  • Responsible for conforming to the company’s quality systems and safety policies and practices.

  • Utilize a company-provided vehicle to transport and deliver supplies as needed to fulfill off-site obligations or operational requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • 1 year of experience in warehouse or equivalent experience or training

  • HAZMAT training required

  • Ability to obtain ATF Employee Possessor Certificate

  • Valid Driver’s License

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms internally and with the customer.

  • Possess good customer service skills.

  • Possess good organization and time management skills.

  • Understanding of inventory processes and automated systems.

  • Ability to drive a forklift.

  • Ability to handle and package inventory and complete paperwork associated with shipping.

  • Ability to complete required tasks for receiving.

  • Ability to obtain an employee possessor status with ATF.

  • Basic personal computer skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have sufficient skills to understand basic accounting and finance principles.

  • Work requires the application of theories and principles of a technological or professional field to the full range of problems and issues characteristic of the field.

  • Work requires judgment, analytical ability and creativity in investigating moderately complex problems or situations, analyzing information and recommending solutions.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • The Warehouse Associate will be involved in typical warehouse activities.

  • Position involves some physical exertion such as climbing of ladders, lifting of heavy objects on an occasional basis, and/or assuming awkward positions.

  • Some of the physical demands that could be encountered include but are not limited to the following: climbing ladders, lifting various size and weight objects, driving a vehicle, handling compressed gas cylinders and agent storage containers.

  • Primary activities will be in the warehouse which is a temperature-controlled environment.

  • Minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air condition.

  • May involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, as with occasional exposure to office chemicals and for continual use of video display terminal.
