Key Co-op Information:

  • Immediate opening for Fall 2024 semester (August-December)

  • Hours: Full-time hours - 1st shift

  • Location: Mentor, OH (onsite work environment)

Duties

  • Designs and develops production lines for new products and process improvements. Supports current product line and new product development. Uses Creo to design and document new products and tooling.

  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope or several projects of smaller in size or scope.

  • Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design/process, quality and customer requirements. Works with internal team and external suppliers to resolve design, manufacturing and quality issues. Performs evaluations and tests to understand and improve the products or manufacturing processes. Develops designs, cost estimates, manufacturing processes and coordinates integration.

  • Creates/coordinates Bills of Material (BOM), mechanical assembly drawings, component drawings, and all other engineering documents required to support product line/ upgrades. Processes/Coordinates engineering changes and product documentation in a timely manner.

  • Support MRP (materials requirements planning) for managing inventory.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Enrolled in an accredited engineering program - Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Biomedical Engineering. Must be enrolled in sophomore year or above.

  • Exposure to 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred but not required)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; exposure to Microsoft Project is a bonus
