Manufacturing Electrical Equipment Engineer Location: Redford, MI/Detroit, MI Job Description:
Work with local & international partners to successfully design & implement machines controls for the latest technology production lines producing world changing products as well as enhancements to existing lines.
Participate in a team for planning and leading complex systems and projects which includes:
Researching vendors, creating technical specifications, requesting quotations, selecting vendors, creating timelines, issuing purchase requisitions (coordinate with Purchasing), scheduling installations and tryouts, qualifying and approving equipment/tooling for projects, and etc.
Lead the controls portion of an internal or external project.
Ensure engineering practices comply with government regulations and safety standards.
Implement and support hardware and software for PLC, CNC & HMI controls.
Implement and support device level networks.
Implement and support servo and VFD hardware and software.
Implement and support manufacturing monitoring systems with emphasis on interfacing to higher-level systems.
Independently applies processes and standards to the needs and progress of projects.
Responsible for funding planning and tracking of complex over-arching projects based on Client standard project funding principles (CAPEX, NRE, EA1, EA2, and OP) as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
5+ years of experience in controls engineering
Experience using Siemens controls.
Experience in manufacturing controls equipment hardware and software design practices and standards
Experience using PC hardware and Microsoft Windows in a networked plant floor environment.
Experience in a project lead role.
