Compensation Range:

$84,032.00 - $109,242.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Supervises and manages department technical and support staff. Works closely and in concert with IS Nursing, Clerical, IT, Faculty and staff to achieve maximum productivity with efficient and safe patient throughput while maintaining optimal customer and patient/family satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides management of imaging technical and technical support staff. Leads decisions related to recruitment, hiring, transfers, promotions, discipline and termination in accordance with UR policies. Plans work schedules and allocates staff. Conducts personnel performance reviews. Evaluates performance of personnel for assigned responsibility in accordance with established format. Conducts evaluation interviews.

  • Manages the efficient operation of assigned section or unit(s) to ensure prompt reporting of laboratory results. Reviews, edits and approves data and results generated in assigned area(s) for general correctness and analytic reliability. Implements and enforces strict quality control over assigned section or units. Develops and maintains staff competencies in accordance with URMC and JCAHO standards.

  • Ensures instrumentation, equipment and supplies are kept in good working order. Arranges for additional maintenance service as needed and in accordance with established policy.

  • Designs and conducts studies for updating methodologies and assists in the evaluation of new instrumentation and products. Communicates and occasionally confers with director(s) and medical staff concerning studies. Develops, updates and implements technical training for staff on protocols, procedures, applications and hardware.

  • Performs coverage of duties for staff, including supervisor or clinical technologist, as needed.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments in respective field of Imaging Sciences equipment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of clinical experience required

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • School of Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic US, and Nuclear Medicine or like Diagnostic Program required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required and

  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in one of the following: Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic US or MRI with CE credits upon hire required
